Why is my link going to the wrong store?
When a link lands somewhere unexpected, it's almost always one of four things. Work down the list in order — they're roughly ordered by how often they're the cause.
1. The link has only one destination
A link with exactly one destination skips the choice page and redirects straight through. If you expected a choice page and got sent to a store, the link probably has one destination, not several. Add the others and the choice page appears.
2. Geo-routing moved the Amazon link
If the destination was Amazon and the viewer is outside your home country, geo-routing may have sent them to their local Amazon. That's working as intended. See How geo-routing picks an Amazon store.
Test it yourself and you'll see your own country's store, which is why this one is easy to misread as a bug.
3. The stored URL points somewhere else
Open the link in your studio and read the destination URL. Product URLs copied from a search results page, a shortened share link, or a different edition are the usual culprits — they look right at a glance and resolve somewhere else.
4. The store's page moved
Retailers retire product pages, especially for special editions and box sets. The stored URL is still exactly what you saved; the store just no longer has that page and redirects to a category or a search.
Still wrong?
